I read the page and didn't feel like the scene was toned down. Do people only mean that because we don't see a head flying it's toned down? Because it just means it's not graphic.

I joined just so I could make sure The Oak knows the truth. Looks like a ton of people on YouTube already gave great explanations, but just in case…
The book scene had the child specifically targeted- not Aemon. It was even darker in the book. At least here they gave Daemon’s character a bit of ambiguity by only having them flash a sly grin when asked what they should do if they can’t find Aemon.
LOL- want to know what The Oak says when he finds out it wasn’t bad writing, just characters being more evil than he realized! 😁
I do think, however, show Rheanyra is kinder than the book one. So, I think she may not be ok with this if she finds out that Daemon approved What do y’all think?

(Not so) fun fact, Arrax (Luke's dragon) was a child of Syrax (Rhaenyra's dragon). So both parents were mourning in that scene on the beach

Has Dave seen Game of Thrones? it would probably take a year to finish but it would be amazing to get Answer and Daves reaction to it

Also, her kid was just killed in front of her.
Who tf even knows what the right reaction would be. A bunch of people just go into shock or act totally irrational if something traumatizing happens.

Also, they literally took a secret entrance to get there. If I had the choice between putting the guards in my bedroom or to the (to my knowledge) only entrance somewhere else, of course I would want some privacy.
I bet the gates and entrances to that part of the palace are guarded. But if you already do that, you don't really need someone in front of every door, too.

The commander of the watch was …. busy, that’s why no one was on guard

I heard somewhere that the reason there was no guards around when Helaena's son was in danger was because Alicent didn't want any guards to see her spending the night with Criston so she commanded they abandon their duty of nights watch just so she can smash... His whole duty was to protect Helaena and the heir.
Helaena was alone and in shock during b&c. She saw beforehand what's to happen and she couldn't do anything to change it. Seeing that she can still save her daughter she had no choice but to give up her son. Her honesty and innocence is shown well during that scene because we forget she's still so young as a character

In this scene I saw it as her being in shock, unable to scream or cry because it all happened in the blink of an eye. She was also terrified for herself and jaehaera & the one person she wanted to run to was her mother. It may not have been accurate but it was very impactful.

Apparently from what a lot of the book readers have said, the "Blood and Cheese" scene was very, very toned down compared to the book. So while it was shocking to us who haven't read it, a lot of the book readers are disappointed that it wasn't more gruesome. lol

The rat catcher asks what if we can't find him so it's plied that he told him to go after the boy

He did not for sure tell them that in the books either idk why you spreading that like you actually see from daemon pov…the book is literally meant to be unreliable lol one of the sources say the king himself was the target so please again tell me how does the book for sure say he did it? Lmao

It's completely understandable and even realistic but imo it does make the scene as a whole less impactful.

They're trying to make Daemon a more sympathetic character for the show. He for sure told them what to do in the book so Idk I think they more left it up for the people to decide even if they said otherwise.

Some people were getting mad at how she reacted but imo (as someone who is autistic) she is written to show to be on the spectrum and we dont usually act the way people want us to or how we “should” that mixed with shock is once again imo shown very well

From what I see on twitter what bothers people is not even that they completely disregarded Daemon’s instructions and had no idea who the king’s brother is but rather that they changed which two kids were involved

In the show Daemon told them "son for a son" and to go for Aemond. They couldn't find Aemond so they decided to go for the King's son as a good second option because they were pressed for time. That's what I got from it. In the book they were straight up ordered to go after the kid. Worse, in the books Aegon and Helena had a second son and the two made her choose between them and then killed the older son, the heir, when she choose the younger son. Even saying to the younger kid before they left "you hear that, your mama wanted to kill you."

Oh jeez I love you guys 🤦🏻♀️😂 I just got to the part of the discussion where you guys went back to read the dialogue you didn’t go one extra frame to look at the sly look Daemon gave cause yall were so heated😂😂 Also in Helaena’s room Blood asked “who is she?” Cheese says she’s the queen, Blood then responds “ ‘A son for a son’ he said”

Answer has yet to see GOT. People wanted Answer to join HOD since it is a prequel. He has watched the first season of HOD.

There was no mistake I truly believe Daemon told those two to take out another if they can’t find Aemond that’s why I watch this show with open mind and I won’t choose sides because I’m sure both sides going forward are going to do some messed up things nobody is innocent in this show
