It’s not uncommon, when encountering projects like this, to see players and creators striving to present the biggest and best version of Pleasantview, especially given how much affection we have for it. However, that wasn’t my goal here.
Taking a different approach, I aimed to recreate an experience similar to The Sims 2, intentionally leaving parts of the map less dense without plants and ensuring it is 100% base-game compatible. The design is simple yet functional.
The focus is on the heart of the town, while the surrounding areas are primarily there to fill the space. Although the map is built on a large canvas, the town itself occupies roughly a quarter of it, making it relatively small. This version features 38 lots.
To avoid requiring expansion packs, I decided to make the road leading to the bridge a dead end, with rocks and boulders filling the space instead.
This may not be the best version of Pleasantview, but it’s my version. In other words, every detail has been crafted with care—the lots are mostly furnished or, at the very least, have organized rooms ready for furniture. The routing has been carefully optimized to ensure a smooth and enjoyable gameplay experience.
Pleasantview is another map I’ve created in record time. This one, for instance, was made in under 24 hours, though it did take longer than our previous map. That said, this was only possible because I reused a work base I started back in 2022 for this neighborhood. Otherwise, creating the lots would have taken significantly more time.
I hope you enjoy the experience! I’m excited to share that Patreon and YouTube supporters will have access to this map later today. <3 With that said, I would like to thank you for your support and let you know how much it means to me. It makes all the difference and is what has allowed me to dedicate this time to creating new maps so quickly. Thank you Very much!!
