Dear Darling Doctor: Chapter 2

So... I've a few bits of commentary for this chapter, since last chapter's commentary was more about the general reasoning behind writing this story.

First things first, Cassandra's personality! In the original version of DDD, she was honestly more of a rebel, more disgusted by the sexism and patriotism at Sunny Skies, and lacked her eventual internalized misogyny that I think has become so core to her character. I wanted to make her personality more consistent, and really delve into how someone could end up with such a warped worldview that she has in later stories, so her internalized misogyny is being incorporated from the get-go in this. It's not as severe as it will be down the road, but it's something you do see in real life. She's the sort of toxic personality that goes snooping in her boyfriend's phone, and who refuses to believe that women and men can just be friends without wanting to hook up.

Since I've shifted her initial personality to be more in line with her later appearances, I decided to take her original personality and political beliefs and incorporate them into a different character, that being Marion. Speaking of which, yes, this is indeed the same Marion who appeared in All Pent Up! I wrote that story around the same time as I wrote this chapter, but put it earlier in the schedule to act as a bit of foreshadowing~

Marion and Siobhan won't take over the protagonist role from Cassandra (she would never allow such a thing), but they will get their own stories in the background, as supporting characters.

Ultimately though, this is indeed Cassandra's story, and we're going to see how Stepfordization can feed into someone's worst traits and lead to the truly unhinged perspective that we know and love her for~
