There's something about control, and denying someone their more personal quirks and preferences, that's so interesting to me. Taking someone who is very vibrant, very colorful, very much full of life, and then making them stuffy and boring and plain, is just such a cruel thing to do, and so of course I wanted to write about it. Marion's exact backstory is left a bit ambiguous here, but I do have a more fully formed idea of what she was like prior to being brought to Stepford, and how they broke her down into a model citizen. Plus, it's always just nice to see a happy lesbian couple in Stepford, isn't it?
