Our last... protagonist... is DJ. From a writing standpoint, she very much is the protagonist of this story, but I think you'll find that she's very possibly the least likable protagonist I've ever written. More than any other story, this is one that deserves the warning that the characters in these stories do not reflect my actual opinions or views.
In terms of how she represents the color Red in the stoplight analogy, DJ is a hard stop. She isn't willing and carefree like Faith, she isn't slow and cautious like Eudora, she's just utterly unreachable by the nurses at Happy Hills Wellness Center, and as you read you'll get a clearer idea as to why that is. But to put it quite simply, DJ is... volatile. She's nearly impossible to indoctrinate simply because you can't even get her to sit down for a nice little brainwashing session.
And so, this story is about how the nurses at Happy Hills deal with someone like DJ, and as a result it ends up being a bit of a revenge story on their part. It's very much a case of villains versus villains, I would say, but I won't spoil how exactly things end for DJ. You'll have to find that out for yourself!

Glad you enjoyed it! Honestly, I actually really enjoy reading darker, more sinister or vengeful/spiteful stories, even if I don't always write them myself. They can be so fun!

2023-09-14 18:57:07 +0000 UTCOh this is great! I’m so used to Stepford stories where the transformation is tragic, unexpected, happens to a poor innocent girl, etc. So it’s a fun change of pace to forcibly transform someone who really, really deserves it! 😈
