The House Wins: Chapter Two

The mini sequel I wrote, Bet On Red, skipped past Mya's brainwashing, and instead took place sometime after Mallory had her first child.
This chapter is going to show what immediately followed the ending of Bet On Black.

I didn't intend to write her that way, but I don't think it's an entirely inaccurate reading? I see her as being of average intelligence, but sort of deliberately dumbing herself down post Stepfordization, if that makes sense? A combination of intentionally acting less capable and also being convinced by propaganda that she is less capable.
