TV Land (Stepfordization)

It's nothing I want to air out here, really, but oddly enough it's actually reignited my desire to write more Stepfordization stories, especially those of a darker and more sinister bent. This story... is not that. This story is very stupid, very silly, and very zany.
The sitcom depicted in this story isn't meant to be a one-to-one parody of any particular 1950s sitcom, but rather it's meant to depict a sort of reflection of a real world sitcom pairing. Keeping Up With The Joneses is the Dick Van Dyke Show to Honey At Home's I Love Lucy. Two of the most beloved sitcoms in Stepford, with one being more popular, but both having their own niches.

You totally nailed the screwball tone of those old sitcoms, incorporating “reefer madness” hysteria works perfectly with that. And yet for all the zaniness you mentioned, I do think there’s some delicious darkness here too. Violet calls this situation her worst hell imaginable just before getting stuck in it forever — love it! I’m sorry to hear about your bad news, but can’t wait to see the dark Stepford stories you come up with next! They can be cathartic.
