Fitting In: Chapter 1

This story is an attempt to do something a bit different from my typical, sinister fare. It’s more of a story about self fulfillment through stepfordization. I actually went back and fiddled with this chapter a bit just last night, and while the plot beats haven’t changed a bit, those tweaks did lead to this being longer by about a page and a half than it was originally, and it has a fair bit more in the way of character interactions as a result.
Now, for the inspirations...
This photo inspired not just Tanya, as well as her yet-to-be-seen friend, Vix, but also the story as a whole!
And as for Sarah-Grace (who underwent a name change, originally being Sally, which I felt was too similar to Sal from the last story), well, green victory rolls seem to just be a rockabilly staple at this point! I couldn‘t resist giving her a set!

Thanks! I plan to elaborate on this more when the next update comes, but I had actually written a whole other direction for this story initially, with Tanya’s friend Vix trying to “save” her from her new friends, but I’m rewriting it to instead focus on Tanya’s journey. I may repurpose the original chapters someday though!
