Two weeks.

Montreal - three weeks from today!!

MissiCz

Yeah I bought them last week or so, they are for my friend who lives in the US though 😊

Nuwanthika

Nuwanthika - Did you get tickets?

MissiCz

Have a safe flight to Montréal guys. Wow the French Canadians with your fab Irish wit.

Marie Libby

MissiCz, thanks for the update! It's strange though, to have no seats, I hope it works well for both FAH and the audience!

Nuwanthika

selkie - I like your way of looking on the bright side.

MissiCz

That's interesting, about the lack of seating. Not so comfortable for those who have to stand, but I imagine it will allow a much larger audience, which is pretty cool to think about!

I agree that it's unusual to have no seating at a comedy show. So, I emailed the venue again and specifically asked if there would be any seating at all for the FAH show and was told, "All the tickets are general admission tickets which means that there are no seats." I can understand having general admission, but no seats? As you said, it seems like they host more music shows. Also, there's another comedy act (stand up) at the same place that night starting at 9:30PM. Seems like there will be a great rush to get the FAH crowd out and then set up for the next guy. The doors open at 6PM and FAH begins at 7PM.

Hi. I’m trying to attach pictures from the website. If you wander through the virtual tour, you’ll see stools in the balcony and certainly areas that COULD accommodate chairs on the general floor. Toward the back of the ground floor, there appear to be tables (to lean on?). It seems unusual to offer no seats for comedy shows - I wonder if they assumed it was a musical performance question. ? I’m going to see something at the venue the night before - if you’re interested in a late update, I’d be happy to do that! https://mtelus.com/fr/nos-salles

I emailed the venue (MTELUS) and here is their response: "Thank you for taking the time to contact us. “General admission” means that there are no seats. Those who hold tickets with the “general admission” mention will enter the venue under the “first come first serve” concept and will be standing for the entire show."

MissiCz

Thanks for that info. I'll let you know what I find out.

MissiCz

I just found this on Ticketmaster website about General Admission venues, "General Admission (GA) refers to seating or standing areas that are not assigned or reserved and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. When purchasing tickets for a GA event, you may be quoted: section, row and seat numbers. However, these are for inventory purposes only and don’t reflect any actual seating location." I think this is the case with the show, since it's mentioned as "General Admission" in the info. Anyways it'd be better if you can confirm from the venue too, please let me know what they say :) I bought tickets as a gift for a friend of mine :)

Nuwanthika

I plan to email the venue to ask. I'll let you know what I find out.

MissiCz

I see, maybe it has assigned seating then, too bad there's no seating map or anything available to check.

Nuwanthika

I got my tickets and I noticed that too. My order says "Sec AG2, Row GA3" and gives a seat number. Then the ticket that gets scanned says "General Admission". It's confusing.

MissiCz

Hi, did you already buy the tickets? Is there any seat assignment or not? When I try to buy tickets the venue map says "general admission" and then after the ticket are assigned it says "Sec AG3"- any idea what it means?

Nuwanthika

I hope you get to see one or the other. I bought tickets for Montreal.

MissiCz

I’m also trying to decide which one to attend! Hope they release details about Halifax soon.

I hope they see your comment and take your advice! Wouldn't it be fun if Arms gave us a video diary while they were there?

selkie

I will be there, along with a fortunate friend or relative who gets tapped to accompany me!

MissiCz

I'm looking forward to seeing you in Montreal! Very handy that you booked a gig where I'm going to be on holiday. I'm so glad it worked out for all of us.

I just checked and I normally won't work the day they perform...but 5000 km away might be a bit much for a day 😁. I can encourage the people I know there to go and see them, though!

I was set to buy my tickets for Montreal, but in today's video the guys said they will be in Halifax. I've never been to Halifax . What to do?

MissiCz

Congratulations, I'm really happy for you and the people who will discover your talent there!!! I hope my city would have kept the french "Just For Laughs" longer so that you would have had a good chance to come here too! Anyway I remembered seeing improv at this festival when it was there and had a really good time :)

Fabulous, that's great news for you! Keep working on that Arosa festival too ;-)

So Just for Laughs finally got their act together, eh?! Congrats, guys, that is great news! And you're playing Metropolis, my old stomping grounds! Well, when I went there it was called Metropolis and it was a dance club, not a performance theatre. Have a wonderful time but take note... Montreal in July is hot as F#*K, so be warned. And make sure Duck has enough time to get through customs this time! Make sure you get some smoked meat from Schwartz's on St Laurent, and if you can make it, try to get to St Viateur Bagel - best bagels in the world!

Congratulations to all of you 🎊 🎉 !! You all really deserve it!! May your nets spread ever wider and wider 😃!

Ruwanthi

Congratulations Foil Arms and Hog!!!I’m so happy for you! Thank you for telling us the date! Well done, lads— Cheers! 🍻
