Playing Donnie McDuff's (Gary Stewart's guitarist) original 1966 Fender Stratocaster!

This was a fun one. Donnie and his daughter knew Keith Mitchell (who I was playing with at the time) and brought it to a gig after he passed. Here I'm playing it on 'Pride and Joy' by SRV (with a bit of my own extended solo), plugged into a Mesa Boogie Mark V (on the Mark I setting, used on early Larry Carlton and Robben Ford stuff)

So Cool.

I'm a huge Gary Stewart fan. When I was 10 years old my grand parents gave me "Out of Hand" on cassette for Christmas/Birthday (real close together for me). I remember my bus driver had her son mount a car stereo under dash of her bus, and I could hear "Drinkin' Thing" or "She's Acting Single" on the radio. He was my first favorite country music artist. You can learn a lot about singing, by singing along with Gary. I rediscovered him about 10 years ago, and got into his later offerings; my favorite being "Whiskey Trip."
