Tube vs. Solid State?
Added 2025-05-08 23:44:22 +0000 UTCBeen doing a lot of back and forth while working on my Brothers AM/AnalogMan King of Tone video. Honestly guys - I am choosing the Quilter most days. This amp sounds better with OD pedals than my $3k tube amps... in this clip I am using the Barber Five Watt World BUSS on the Dumble setting. Check it out.
My dad was an engineer in defense systems, and actually had a patent on the stealth bomber. He was a guitarist, and always told me that 'solid state could eventually sound just as good' - I think we are there!

+1 for the Henriksen. I've had my Bud Six for six years and the thought of selling it has never crossed my mind. The Bud Six's small size is deceptive: it is loud AF and easily fills a room. It is no wonder that it is a favorite among jazz players.

2025-05-13 13:27:28 +0000 UTCI feel that way about my Henriksen. I love my magnatone starlight, but even my lab series 5 is another great solid state amp. I want to try a quilter. Is yours a combo or just a block. If so what cabinet do you run.

2025-05-09 01:19:43 +0000 UTCCoincidentally... my Quilter Superblock US arrived today. I don't have a cab to play it with, but in Standby I can do headphones or XLR out to my Scarlet. I can't wait to be able to play with it this weekend.
