i do agree that the absurd magic AI is a bit immersion breaking and imo doesn't add too much to the story but its whatever. too deep in now

2025-12-06 18:29:05 +0000 UTCCurrent best practices for AI is at best 95% accurate, and that costs hundreds of millions of dollars for the simplest of AIs. Most of that is in energy costs, and it takes months with quality data to train it that well. Most AI gets to about 80% accurate and then the cost to improvement of performance cost benefit analysis show that further spending isn't worthwhile. Using the sensors to make in game fully 3D VR clips that can be viewed by guests at the game would cost less than 1,000,000 pounds more since the hardware and most of the software to get the feeds needed to make the Virtual Environment are already there. For Dove to do the VR stuff for training it would have to be reviewed by a human before being used. I'd estimate just off of energy costs alone that Dove would cost at least 150,000,000 pounds worth of energy on the industrial energy market to get to the 80% accuracy threshold. This only holds true if Pradeep is using the best practices of today and isn't a genius who has come up with an entirely new way to train AI that massively reduces computation needed. If he has then that method is worth more than the entirety of English Football. There is a reason why Chinese AI development is so much cheaper than elsewhere. They get it to 80% and stop, and energy in China costs about 1/10 of what it does in the rest of the developed world. That's why the Chinese version of Chat GPT only cost about $120,000,000 to make instead of the estimated $1 to $3 billion that Chat GPT took.

He can't afford to be fixated on a single player no matter how good her potential is. Not when it gets in the way of his principles and ambitions. Certainly not when he has better, and more importantly, cheaper options.

Unlike most AI products out there, DOVE is actually useful and has many applications, and clubs would pay millions annually to subscribe to it. She would definitely jump at the chance of building a multi-billion dollar company.

I can see Max's point, because her actions point to someone who didn't seem that interested in being part of the solution to a problem that she was involved in (not gonna blame her for getting involved with someone, she has that right. But she def fanned the flames). Emiliano, though, I totally get. Max has laid out what he expects from Emiliano's play style, who has repeatedly ignored it. The guy is crazy talented, but you can't give his type oxygen, because it creates justification for bad behavior. The 'as long as we win' mentality only stays positive if those wins keep happening, and it's liable to completely fracture a team if they hit a skid. As always, excited to see what comes next!

Sunzu's response to that -- Sunzu's -> Sunz's (unless you meant to introduce another nickname, I guess) with a very serious average Current Ability (CA) -- you already defined CA earlier this chapter A third Baggie came at me -- you spelled it Baggle earlier (I have no clue which is right, or if both are) one of the three into a central attacking midfield (CAM) slot -- CAM was also defined earlier this chapter "Hoist by my own Sun Tzu." -- Hoist -> Hoisted It looks like a six-foot tall fussball table rod -- fussball -> foosball (unless I'm thinking of the wrong thing here)
