Boys 2 Men

Comments

Delightful, emotional, fun. I gobbled this one up like Rufio at an imaginary feast.

Kyle Kirby

I'm not crying, you're crying

Naimah

Took me all week but I finally glanced at the title and got the boys 2 men 3 thing.

Galeg

Yeah but it was mostly about the body cameras. I mean more about the refs themselves who have to deal with Best or drama from Best fixtures.

Droman

He did a ref pov in the body camera chapter

Caerold

It has to be written down somewhere in a format Max could one day find and use in his 'memoirs'.

Ted Steel

Amazing :)

Ted Steel

A great chapter, Ted! I'm curious, given the variety of lenses for chapters and Max doing one chapter as a referee way back, have you considered a referee POV chapter yet?

Droman

Heartwarming! Whose a good author? Yes you are!

Chris Memmott

THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!

MomoKokomo

Amazing chapter

JaegerMaxim

I really enjoyed the Dan Bradford/Max talk, “the child raises the man”. It’s not meant to be as deep as I’m taking it but it struck a chord in me and I’d like to share. In my opinion, what measures the greatness of a man is his decisions. The world is constantly in a state of chaos, and it takes constant conscious effort to be the rock your family and friends need, an example for the people who look up to you. Show a strong face in the shadows of adversity, the maturity and wisdom to solve problems, accountability to admit faults, the self-discipline to keep your standards high, and 100 other things just as important, but it all starts and ends with you.

Logan Cole Adams

Top shelf. Thank you very much for the chapter.

Andrew Goudie

"wild energy but he kept just enough to glare." Is weirdly broken in my phone between kept and jest, but looks fine on the computer. Same thing with "Best gets quiet before looking at Porto." An odd split between before and looking on the phone that isn't there on the computer. Must be my issue.

Galeg

I'm really happy for the lads and Chester. The icing on the cake has icing. The cherry on the top has icing. It's a frosting ice age.

Richard Carling

Beth is lucky they didn't all try to bang a gong while they had a chance. That's the risk you take going into the men's dressing room at half-time. Luck? Well, they are gentlemen, so no.

Richard Carling

There's no limits.

Richard Carling

It's grammatically correct - 'will him to miss' is essentially they're thinking, praying, hoping, trying to make it happen with their minds

Felix Skinner

I will scroll back and find them in the next hour or so. I am fairly sure one of them was the word "quiet" cut in half over two lines.

Galeg

I see, thanks!

Memoryofgold

No. Will as a main verb. 'try to make it happen by the power of your thoughts'

Ted Steel

I loved this chapter, I can't wait for the epilogue, it really felt like the end of an era but also new beginnings. I can't wait to see where you'll take us

Memoryofgold

> Time slows. Thirty thousand people will him to miss. -is it supposed to be "will want him to miss?"

Memoryofgold

That was so peak.. Nando's sponsorship incoming.

Memoryofgold

I found one. (About Tyson.) Can you tell me the other?

Ted Steel

Lovely stuff. A worthy ending of the story arc. Not sure if it is just my phone, but I noticed 2 places where a sentence or word would unnaturally cut off and start again on the next line .

Galeg

Right back.

Wesley Burr

Of course, this sets up next year to be the awkward adolescence (for the club if not necessarily for the teams)

Geoff Urland

This really feels like the closing of a time in life for Max, for Benny and Tyson, for Beth, and for Chester as a whole. Max isn't fully grown up, but the boys are men, the women are women (and are going to dominate next year after some Pascal growing pains), the men (after three straight promotions!) are starting to play with the big boys, and the club is growing up - stadium, staff, training ground, more professional all around.

Geoff Urland

*Beth opens tiktok tomorrow* "Nono, Nono, no no Nono Nono."

Geoff Urland

He's the original Baby Bale - the super high PA Welsh kid who is a striker that Max is turning into a left back (and doing Bale's position progression in reverse)

Geoff Urland

After every chapter I feel like Oliver Twist, I just want some more

Fraser

For the team. Who was roddy jones again? I got lost in that piece of the story. Thanks!

LLac

Spectacular end. Loved it.

LLac

That was spectacular. The gong! You getting your theme and then going to town! Those lovely, lovely boys (now men). And Roddy Jones got a rampage!

Wesley Burr

🎉🎉🎉

Joppest

Pure Cinema.

Matthew The Bread Smith
