2024-05-11 20:00:06 +0000 UTCBrig is the interesting one for me, Kanyau. On the one hand it'd suck to lose him, but on the other hand a Welsh program starting out from the bottom doesn't quite need him just yet.

2024-05-11 19:29:30 +0000 UTCI could actually see Brooke following Max over. Bonus because you know the Welsh league would laugh Daddy Star out of the B-Boy board room because the next opportunity for him to buy out the Welsh team would be after Best turns that 20k into wins-wins-wins. My only fear would be the Brig's reluctance to leave the youth or delay their progress.

2024-05-11 17:49:58 +0000 UTCNowhere near a quarter as clever as Ted to pull it off, Richard. Wise, I'll put more evil than that out.

2024-05-11 17:02:47 +0000 UTCYanno, Ted, I started reading this knowing only what I could remember from playing soccer when I was 6. But here I sit, vaguely irritated that Max isn't actually real and yelling at the English FA.

2024-05-11 02:22:58 +0000 UTCI got my first taste of live football as a kid going to watch Halifax town FC at the Shay with my grandad, I still didn’t like football but my grandad bought me a pie. Good times

2024-05-10 19:38:50 +0000 UTCOkay, so I've been holding back a screaming fit about the story potential of Welsh football for about a week or two now since Max started looking at Welsh grant money, and I think now is the time I post and dump this and go back to being an anon. I've basically Welsh-pilled myself into the idea that this lean towards Wales is setting up for a massive shift in the status quo. And I might be biased simply because I hope it does happen. A far too confident Max might very well lose the battle in January for Chester, like he lost a player to the Saudi Pro League. If he's keeping to his guns and leaving, then that basically means he's been freed up to pursue managing, playing and owning a Welsh team from the ground up. To lose everything we've seen built up until now would suck, but at the same time it'd be pretty rad. It's the thing football is made of, of managers and dynasties coming to an end and careers restarting elsewhere. The more I think about it, the more I wonder about who really needs to make the move from Chester as cast? My mind goes to Brig, Youngster, WibRob, Pascal and Henry. The women's team and the youth team are big losses, losing the likes of Kisi, Dani and Angel isn't ideal. We'd still have the agency (now targeting Welsh players), we'd still have Emma, etc. Sandra would probably take over as an interim manager for the rest of the season, maybe stay on full time if Daddy Star is convinced he needs a steady hand. I'm shaking as I type this, these kind of shake ups rarely happen on serial stories. It'd suck to lose Sumo. Would suck to lose the podcast. It'd mean no Premier League climb for a while. Ted said 18 months to get the team going and three or so years to hit the top of the pyramid, right? Well there's always a potential return to Chester in 4-5 years if Daddy Star gets bored. That's enough time for the money to fizzle and Chester to be stagnant at a League 2 level. The programs that Max started might still exist, albeit in a moribund fashion, if Brooke sticks around long enough to fight for them. She hates her father obviously, but she's growing to love the nuances of football business. She might stay a while longer to fight for those before moving on. God I'm loving the possibility of this. Feeling like Smacker, ready to run through a wall. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1fpV0OFC0vc It's time for Magnus Maximus, Macsen Wledig to come home! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnus_Maximus

2024-05-10 18:20:26 +0000 UTCMax is all over the place with WibRob in this chapter. He's really anxious about losing him. I'd love to see one of their private training sessions and see how WibRob responds to Max.

2024-05-10 11:58:54 +0000 UTCStill reading but just a minor point - you use the word 'horizon' twice in quick succession towards the beginning. May just me me, but it made me double take which interrupted the flow.
