And there are way more than 10 Attributes. I don't know about other examples, but if Max indeed has 20 in all of his, your math can't work unless max PA could be a LOT higher than 200, if I'm understanding what you mean.

2023-10-03 06:50:59 +0000 UTCWhile PA is the max ability, there are clearly ways to better apply that ability. Morale, Fitness, Best Position, Motivation and a more obscure one involving Attributes. You can train attributes up to the PA, but if you lose a point on an attribute not needed for a position, you can then train up a point where it is needed. EG Glenn drops a point in flair and finishing and gains two in jumping.

In addition to the big mystery of who the heck bashed Max's head in, we have: Do Max's skills still work the same? Which Harrison brother did Max want? What is up with the social dynamics of the u16s? Why is Dani so pissy this season? Who is Angel? Why isn't James playing more (or even on the bench)? What was the loan for? What is Henri doing with cobtracts (resolved?)? Why has Max stopped pimping for Jackie lately? (Too tired?) What is Jackie doing? Will Max and Emma have their heart to heart and get more serious? Why can't Max improve players' CA? (Does he just not see himself as a coach?) Who is on the new board?

But I still don't see the fourth goal description or even mention at all, nor the penalty, which I now assume is how that all happened (when Pascal was fouled and the Boston player was expelled, then?). Maybe I'm being dense, but either way, it's not a big deal. ^^

I agree it's an area of improvement, and it's very easy to imagine scenes where he does it and regrets it. But he'll always use it on teams that are being dicks, for example. Re: language. I wanted to explain this but it didn't flow. 'on a hat trick' means 'close to scoring one', i.e. he has two goals. He's on a hat trick so he should take the penalty. I'll have to slip in an explanation somewhere. They got up to four-nil 'in-depth', the fifth is mentioned, Max wants to move on, Boggy says there's two more to talk about, meaning in detail. It felt bad when I was writing it. I'll see if I can improve that little bit of flow.

2023-09-30 07:57:25 +0000 UTC- Seven coaches turned up, but I immediately became obsessed with the eighth - the one who'd asked if we would repeat the session but who hadn't shown up. For some reason, I was desperate to meet him. I asked the Brig if he could track the guy down. - Curse-induced feeling or just one of Max' idiosyncrasy? I'm glad to see I was right about Glenn and his morale drop just being about his fear of losing the Captain role, and it was nice to see him step out of his comfort zone and lure the enemy into Chester's half to set up an attack. An improvement born of him reaching his PA, perhaps? Will we get to see an *increase* in PA, rather than CA, eventually? I feel like that might be a new and interesting game-changer/eye-opener for Max. Gotta say I dislike the mind games when they get too personal. I'm already not a big fan of trash talk even when it's sort-of friendly, but setting out to seriously affect someone's mood negatively is more than just distasteful for me. I hope it's an area of improvement for Max that the story will explore, but I know I might be in the minority, here, as sports circles (possibly society at large) seems to find this kind of thing entertaining. - Boggy: So that was three-nil, with Raffi Brown on a hat trick. - Heads up: based on this and a few lines later in the interview, things don't quite add up for me. First, one of the goals scored before this statement seems to have been from Tony, not Raffi, making either the 3-nil or the hat trick impossible. Then, Boggy mentions needing to cover 2 more goals before moving on to the next match, but the result was 6-nil, so... maybe a Raffi goal got lost in editing. Or am I missing something? Angel? Is that Nick? The hell?! I'm also curious about the scout Max is expecting to do well at her course. I can't remember anyone being set up for it in the story, except maybe the Owl, but she seems to be happy and already employed as a coach, so it doesn't feel right. Eager to read what this is about! It's a bit frustrating to see the lack of sleep and the overworking getting to Max. Even though it's pretty in character, it also feels a bit forced to me, like it could be easily alleviated in-story and it's *not* mostly because Ted has decided not to (which technically is true for anything in the story, but when I *feel* it, it becomes an issue in my eyes. I'm sure there's an actual name for this stuff in writing lingo, but I hope you get what I mean). That said, I expect this to lead to a triumphant moment in which someone supremely bald finally steps in to lift some of the burden off his shoulders, so it's all good. Thanks for the chapter!
