2023-09-29 09:32:22 +0000 UTCI liked that Max took the session with Raffi's hired coach to learn, that he agreed for more, and that we got confirmation (pretty much) that Soccer Supremo isn't affecting his real life stats. Also interesting was the new hint that some mystery person has an eye on Raffi, and it's someone with good connections in the business, since he recommended him to Cody, who seems to be an elite coach. It's gonna be an issue down the road, I'm sure. Max' enthusiasm with West was infectious and I see the appeal, while Henk and his mom being suddenly brought up made me wonder... could she have been the reason (even partially) for Nick seemingly leading Max to Tenerife and Tranmere? Could she become Chester Women's coach? She knows her football, after all, and since Henk himself going back to Chester (and down the ladder) doesn't sound very plausible, the only other reason for bringing them back into the story that I can see is to give Max a possible conflict/motivation for going to Tranmere, which I don't think is likely. But I still like my Bonnie-as-coach theory more. The tribunal scene was great. I knew Evans was going to pop up again but I honestly thought it would be in a situation where Max would see his profile. He had yet to unlock the Staff perk last time Ian was coaching, after all (same for Jackie, by the way, which has me on edge). I liked that they got along a bit, though. Max networking and possibly setting up a side hustle as a football consultant was nice and I'm intrigued by the idea of Mateo loaning him money. The most obvious guess is an investment in West, but Ted likes his surprises so, who knows? Maybe it's a switcheroo with Tadcaster Albion, with Max planning to turn it into a similar setup? I liked the TalkSPORT tease. It successfully hyped me up. Thanks for the chapter!

Firey pit opens at the halfway line, All the fallen immortals, doomed to torment the sinful, wheel up for the second half. They have broken out of the inferno and fancy a bit of football. Pandemonium FC on tour. Or it could go in another direction, I'll grant you. The loan is to get a house that doesn't yell at him in the middle of the night is my guess. Squirrels would have the decency to sleep during the night. If Matt lends him a house worth of money and then Chester get drawn against Tranmere in the FA cup there will be muttering no matter what the score. This is the sort of thing that can be made to look bad by your enemies.
