Yeah - propaganda can cut both ways on the internet. If some Chester fans think he's already going to leave this is only going to make them certain of it.

Geoff Urland

Could just drop them in a comment to satisfy curiosity.

Exclusive: Max Best has put down roots in Chester, but he is half crazy from that knock on the head. Has good things to say about our main rival. Bad things to say about referees. After he defended them so before the attack. Get well soon Max, you are already great.

Richard Carling

I see that. Maybe there could be a system update that lets him pull up a condensed version of his current roster. That would turn it into a quick spreadsheet. If not I think I'd mostly like to see what James, Henri, and Aff are at.

Rhys Rathbun

When you say CA for the team, you don't mean the overall average, right? You mean for as many characters as poss? Problem is finding a way to slip them in naturally. Max can never say them out loud.

Ted Steel

I see what u mean. I think it's something that works so well for you because to me the best part about your writing is how real you make the characters and the story.

Rhys Rathbun

That's Max, though. That's not a system message. Having it mentioned by the curse is maybe overdue, now that I think about it. I might slip it into the next monthly perk or so. Just because it's not longer interesting that it's mayyyyybe not what Max thinks.

Ted Steel

The great thing about Patreon/Royal Road is when it improves my story. I definitely forget super obvious things. And that's fine most of the time because MAX is forgetting them, too. So when you say something I can get another character to say it and it's even more impactful. So keep it coming!

Ted Steel

So, is that the first time it's been flatly referred to as Current Ability on-screen? I think it might. I'm sad I can already see the next political/social problem looming - Max is going to signal he's after Folke's job as psychological warfare, and Raffi will believe him, leading to drama. Ah well. It was nice while it lasted. Finally, I'm impatient to find out who thw new coach will be - Jackie, someone else?

BelligerentGnu

It would be hilarious if it doesn’t actually exist. It’s just some guy who is doing his job and Max decides they are enemies.

Brandon Baier

I don't know about "wannabe," Max is way too invested in their rivalry, if that rivalry even exists....

Eidetic Eidolon

Max is playing with fire here. Sports fans are generally not tolerant of players or managers who are blatantly and publicly not totally committed to their team. Not to mention how publicly reviled he'd end up being in Darlington if he really led them on like he is thinking. I don't think he wants that. Though the funniest thing is that there is no way any of that rant is going in that guys column about the match. "But Max, I write for the local paper not a long-form, deep-dive, non-league football centered blog"

Eidetic Eidolon

Can we get a current CA level for the team? I feel like it's been a bit since we've seen some of the numbers. Or if u don't want to do everyone at least youngster. Also love the video and thanks for adding in the filming training comments. I actually like that it came from the team it felt more organic that way.

Rhys Rathbun

It’s honestly awesome. If every game description was the same, it would lose a little something. The fact that we get some games in real time and others as podcast or news articles is so freaking entertaining.

Brandon Baier

Yes, fixed, thanks!

I really love the podcast segments. Minor typo mate - 'aim to main', assuming this should be 'aim to maim'

Felix Skinner

This chapter was even better than Folke’s dad.

Sorry I hadn't gotten back to you, Ted. My SO has *opinions* on the signing of books. Mostly because I had to punish her the last time I found one she'd chewed up and left behind the bedframe while I was out. So that happened. On the brighter side, I've managed to secure lodging in this strange Asian country where people think Mac's Texas Burgers come from actual Texas and not an industrial freezer. Mac is actually Japanese for McDonalds, can you believe it? They pronounce it Ma-ku. I think it's properly written as 魔区? Anyway, the post over here has this issue where a lot of countries don't think they are actually part of the United States. OR Europe! I guess some people weren't paying close enough attention in 1945. So I usually write off any offers of postage cause it's a huge pain getting things sent out here. There's also the fact that I've got about three postage stamps extra storage in this place. Tiny. I have room for only about three physical books, and as an American I'm obligated by law to reserve one of the slots for The Good Book. I always forget how thick Good Omens' hardcover is, which is pretty limiting. If I'm lucky I'll have room for volume 4 when you publish it, since it's only 11 chapters. On the other hand, if you figure out how to sign a digital copy I can probably spare the time to look into email postage rates. On an unrelated note, Max's Darlo not-a-rant rant was really funny. Inspiring, almost.
