"Out of all of us, she has the best shot at living a normal, safe little life. Once the novelty wears off, how do figure a young, ambitious bi woman, who could have any cishet man she wants, will choose to stay with a weird old lesbian?"
Ike has the unenviable task of asking the abrasive questions in WwF. This is because he has an abrasive personality; he's seen some shit, so he's got a trunk full of the stuff. Clem, for her part, responds to his inquiry in the most Clem-like way possible: Piggy Sue may leave whenever she wants, for whatever reason she wants, if that's what SHE WANTS. As long as she's free to leave, she's free to stay.
This scenario exists as an entry point for the Huxley arc. If you don't recall, Huxley is Clem's seemingly more compatible ex, whose apparent perfections intimidate Piggy Sue.
When We Fly (c)Kae
Post-script, Mister Dumbo Downer, we'd prefer if you didn't manipulate the dish cloths with your actual nose. You're going to make people sick.
