Forg gurl takes home the March gold!
Agnes's design has been something of a project for me since the beginning. While some herps in WwF do have hair (probably a version of gill filament in their case), Agnes does not, and speaking as a human it's difficult to wrest femininity from a bald character. Regardless, Agnes has always been a character strongly defined by her femininity, and I'm especially intrigued to see her embrace a slightly more androgynous side in her adulthood. She remains high femme to Mantiski's tomboy, but she doesn't necessarily require ruffles to prove it. Well, maybe a few ruffles.
Meanwhile, drawing Agnes at all ages gives me a good opportunity to show that the more-or-less humanoid folk of WwF are still very much animals. Agnes is an amphibian, and baby frogs do not look exactly like grownup frogs. She did have what amounted to a tadpole stage, eventually winding up with a small, stubby tail at the end of her evolution. What a trip it it must be for frog folk to watch their own tails gradually disappear! We mammals are mostly concerned about fur where there wasn't fur before...
As for her life in the future, it's my tentative assumption that Agnes majors in business and joins Mantiski at the helm of the riverfront real estate gig. As the ostensible owner of the company, I can easily see Mantiski herself being much more interested in the aesthetic upkeep of the property, while Agnes is the meticulous brain behind the throne. I'm also quite fond of the idea that the pair foster/adopt a swarm of kids to fill out the pond.
