I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, if it's something you celebrate. I know many of you probably have difficult family gatherings that you have to somehow navigate, and you have my sympathy and support. I'm fairly far away from my people, and while I love and miss them terribly, I don't relish my divorced parents fighting for my attention (I'm in my 40s and yes, this is still happening). It pays in a way to be everyone's favorite out-of-town guest who can't make it in for major holidays, sorry about that. My wife and I have a Cracker Barrel waiting for us.
In other news, my little family are fostering a kitten! This isn't our first foster, but I do think this baby is pretty special. Liz's coworkers were feeding the kitten at their air BnB, and were going to just kick her out when the job was done, so Liz brought her home. The 10-week old tuxedo baby has been named Cricket (because I love a bug). Already Cricket is learning to be friendly and affectionate. She plays too hard and we're working on her bad habits, but we took her to the vet straight away and her bill of health is clean; we can integrate her with our adult cats soon. They'll smack some sense into her when she's being a punk. Once she's old enough we'll take Cricket to be spayed, and then we'll find her a happy home! Kind of gives me impetus to get through January. Every inch of it isn't bad, when you've got a baby for which to care.
It's hard to get any pictures of this little twerp, she never sits still!
