Hello everyone!
It might seem that this update doesn’t contain any headline-grabbing items, but that’s not the case. A tremendous amount of work has gone into updating the core, refactoring, and overhauling nearly all of the most important features you care about in this project. The new framework has reduced resource usage, fixed a number of longstanding painful bugs, and will make it much easier to implement further global features down the road.
In this release, I have completely rewritten "HYBRID OC" from the ground up in order to deliver a significant boost in both stability and performance (which also required a new CPU diagnostics routine). I really love how "HYBRID OC" works now on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D—it delivers a boost well beyond the standard 5225 MHz. At a VID of 1225 mV, I’m getting almost 5600 MHz on nearly all cores, and that’s genuinely awesome. I also really like how this update performs on the older Ryzen 5 7600X. All users with single-CCD processors will notice the difference. As for dual-CCD CPUs, my work isn’t finished yet, so I’m holding off on any bold claims.
I have also tested and refined "T-CONTROL" for gaming so that even the most finicky engines now obey HYDRA’s directives and parallelize tasks exactly as intended. Furthermore, on dual-CCD processors, when a game is running HYDRA will shift background processes onto cores that aren’t running the game, ensuring maximum responsiveness. This update delivers peak comfort and performance in games and shows special consideration for streamers—any streaming service will no longer interfere with gameplay.
This update is the foundation that will form the basis of HYDRA 2.0, which we’ve been working toward for so long.
- TECHNICALLY YES, BUT RECOMMENDED TO RECOGNIZE FROM ZERO
First version on new kernel (.NET Framework 4.8.1 -> .Net 8.0) with updated versions of all nested libraries (for UI too).
"HYBRID OC" has been rewritten from scratch. It offers more performance and stability. I really like how it works on single-CCD processors.
"SEARCH CCD HOC CO" has been rewritten from scratch.
"SEARCH CORE HOC CO" includes a number of changes that do not affect the testing process itself but do affect the final results.
Presets and CPU diagnostic settings have been modified.
"PROFILE CREATION" has received a series of fixes and enhancements.
Improved application parallelism and reduced CPU usage for its own needs.
Improved interaction with RTSS.
"T-CONTROL" functionality has been substantially improved, especially for gaming applications. A number of bugs have been fixed.
Added logging of critical events when HYDRA crashes.
Improved communication with SMU; added SMU cleanup in case a command gets “stuck” in it.
Improved function of logging data from processor sensors (located on the "LOGGING" tab, button labeled LOG). Particular attention was paid to the point that HYDRA background work is almost invisible in the log itself.
Improved stability of "DEFAULT vs HYBRID OC" and "DEFAULT vs AMD PBO2" tests.
* False positive of antivirus (like always).
