Remember that scenario where Red got beat up defending herself from a couple of thugs, and spent a bunch of consequent time sulking and shutting out Val and Kittiwake? Red's pastor, Brother Denis, is probably the only person who can look the big pig in the eyes (if he really stretches his neck) and challenge her attitude. She's awash in anger and self pity because she fears she can't be everywhere at once to protect her wives. Her greatest concern is that she's not as powerful as she claims to be, and that she's not good for much of anything that doesn't pertain to her muscles. In truth Red has everything going for her, and maybe she ought to appreciate the strength, support and love with which she's been blessed.
Denis is Asuraludu's character. He's an eyelash viper of the cloth who used to be all fire and brimstone before a near tragedy changed his life. Demoting himself down to "brother" for his own humility, he now works tirelessly to support the needy and unite the St. Charlies community.
Maybe a reference to "Out For Love" would have been more appropriate, but quoting "Loser Baby" is just funnier.

Red is Christian, and is astonishingly humble and quiet about it (Red being neither humble nor quiet otherwise). Kittiwake dabbles in various spiritualities. Val is an atheist.
