How To Clem

It's time for BOAR LORE AND MORE!  Today I realized that there were big holes in Clem's family tree and I should probably fill them.  Maybe grab a snack and go to the bathroom before you sit down to read this one.

Foregone conclusion: The San Fransisco Scroffs are quite the august herd, thus most of his line took Doradus's name...except his first wife, Mitsu, who kept her surname out of respect for her pack.  Doradus was a fine soldier who fought the good fight in WWII...unfortunately, the good fight didn't return the favor; while he was away his wife was stuck in an internment camp.  Mitsu hid her young twins Daniel and Alsesta with Doradus's extended family to save them from the same fate.  Mitsu was eventually returned to her family, but by then the mental damage was done, and she didn't last long after that.

While Dandy had become attached to the cousins who had been looking after him, the second Doradus returned, Alsesta stuck to her father like glue.  She adored the man, and would forgive him for a lot of his shortcomings, including the fact that he didn't have the heart to tell his children about their mother's suicide.  Instead he attested that she missed Japan and returned there.  It would be years before Alsesta learned the truth.

For the old man's sake, Alsesta half-tolerated the presence of Doradus's second wife Julianna and their spoiled offspring, Theodore.  With that silver tusk in his mouth, teenage Teddy could do no wrong in the eyes of his parents...until he totally ate shit and got his girlfriend Eunice pregnant.  Teddy and Eunice tried and failed to play happy families for a brief and miserable time, but it didn't stick and and their daughter Julie was eventually taken away by Eunice's family.  Perhaps sadly, no one who cares about Teddy is still alive, and his whereabouts are unknown.

Eunice is likewise MIA, having grown up, married and disappeared from our radar.  Her parents cared about Julie but were distracted by their own work, kids and life, and Julie started sneaking the booze early out of boredom.

Julie met college boy Ali while partying/slumming it in Philadelphia, and while he denies any relation to Julie's daughter, I strongly believe him to be Clem's sire.  When Julie got sick of her kid and skipped town, the authorities couldn't locate any relations except for one Alsesta Scroff, Clem's great aunt.  Alsesta and her wife Franzie had since moved to St. Charlies to live in the house that Mitsu's family had left to Alsesta and Dandy (he didn't want to leave California).  Thereby the strange little herd of Alsesta, Franzie and Clem originated.

TLDR: A princely pen of pigs, one pup, lots of discomfort and a smattering of tragedy.  Also, for those of you taking notes with which you can trip me up later: Alsesta is partially Japanese and Clem is not, whilst Clem is partially Latina and Iranian and Alsesta is not.  Doradus and Julianna were Wild Anglo Saxon Pigfolk, and that would appear to be a bell I can't un-ring.

Boars all the way down.

Thank you for asking! Since day one, Dandy felt a sense of detachment from his parents. As a toddler he bonded with the cousins who were taking care of him, while Alsesta bonded to Doradus upon his return. Neither of the twins had much opportunity to bond with Mitsu, since she was completely depressed. Dandy was loyal to his twin but simply didn't care much about Doradus or Julianna. When he learned that Mitsu had not left but instead had died by her own hand, Dandy's attitude was "Well, that's the old man's integrity for you, (shrug)."

You wrote Alsesta only half-tolerated Teddy and Julianna, but what was Dandy's relationship like with him and his stepmother? How did he take the news of his mother's death?
