Friends and Family 4

Gosh, these things are getting detailed!  So, preface: despite not being Catholic, I attended a Catholic high school (art scholarship).  As Catholic schools went I am led to believe mine was extraordinarily chill, but then again this was the late 90s and none of the queer kids were out.  Mantiski's experience is going to be somewhat different than mine.

Tom Seville (a serval, because I HAVE PUNS FOR YOU) is Mercyfurs Prep's World Religions/Theology teacher.  He's based on my own teachers who did their best to inspire us to learn about faiths and cultures outside our own, within the limitations of what they were allowed to do.  Seville enjoys his job, respects his students and is a positive (if tertiary) influence on Mantiski.

Calvin Pongo (an orangutan) is the old-school priest at Mercyfurs.  So, at school we used to have to go to mandatory penance every so often, which I considered weird but was just part of the curriculum.  Father Cal frets heavily for the eternal souls of the TikTok generation, and for none more than that pesky Mantiski and her heathen ink.  Most bugs of WwF lean towards atheism and are not interested in institutional marriage, which ruffles a few pelts.

If you guessed that Glasgow denizens Sarah and Eumann ("Manny") are Red's parents, you win a haggis.  Wealthy, right-leaning and rife with loud opinions, these two love nothing more than a vociferous debate.  Which is just what Red loves too!  The way Red fights with her parents you'd assume that they hate one another, but they all really enjoy each other's company.  You also wouldn't think Sarah and Manny would be so warm towards Valerie and Kittiwake, but here we are.  

Wilbury "Will" MacGowd has aged rather prematurely, despite being Red's younger brother.  Close proximity to parents who constantly yell their tusks off will do that to the family sane man.  At least Will has the support of his equally-copacetic long-term girlfriend, Shanley Arras.  She's an orb weaver spider, and while those are most often yellow and black, I made her gray because she looked too much like a bee.  Also, you can start doing shots every time I make a clever reference to Charlotte's Web.  Don't drive.
