CTR 2.1 ROADMAP (MARCH) + "CHARGING" INFO

We've come quite a long way since the release of the first CTR 2.1. And this month a lot of important and exclusive features await all Early Access Club.

______________________

Apart from the updates for CTR 2.1 we'll be changing the "charging" policy for Early Access Club members in 2 days. "Charging" will take place immediately at the beginning of the month rather than at the end.

Why this change?

There is a fairly large percentage of the public who join to the  Early Access Club, get all the work (guides and builds) and leave. Free of charge and without any penalties. The next month they do the same. I think this is quite painfully to the project and to other, honest early access users.

Thank you all for your help and trust.

Anyone know the discord link?

love the work you do and appreciate this kind of tool! cant express it enough

I was curious at how many people would pop in, download and leave. You do A LOT of work within a month and the 'freeloaders' manipulating the system get away with all of the benefits from the time and effort you put in. Just in my opinion, take care of yourself, change what needs to be changed. Those that truly support the knowledge and effort understand and will gladly pay for it.

each level depends on vdroop and processor temperature

Yuri Bubliy

Oh yeah, so while I get that the penalties at the end of the tuning are basically downward adjustments to the last step’s results, what all are the levels? I’ve seen Level 1 and Level 2. Like how much of an adjustment is each level?

Henry Curtis Pelgrift

CTR: switching between PX High, PX Mid, PX Low, P2, P1, each totally free to configure, no clock stretching Dark Hero: switching between standard boost (perhaps with curve optimizer) and a static manual OC

Riwwelorsch

I am curious...I always thought about CTR as a way to get Dark Hero dynamic OC without buying the Dark hero. So what benefit are you getting with CTR over just using the Dark Hero's own feature?

Gabriel

Nice, I'm running the Dark Hero too - which chip are you using? 5950x here!

Mickey85

And my 3700X.... 😭

Henry Curtis Pelgrift

@yuri you have our support! Btw - got Dark Hero finally delivered and now CTR runs super smooth! 🙌

Xdrqgol

Also just wanna say thanks for your work , I just got unlucky myself if there was a tin sample I would have it my 3800x drops thread on like 3rd stress test lol so damn bad make a new category for my cpu Tin ...or like paper ☹️

Fixwec

Yeah I figured that people would be doing that i pledged that if I decided not to stay I'd wait until after charge at least .. still here tho 😁

Fixwec

I love your work, even though I've seen someone who's sharing the patreon's only builds/guides, I preferred to join here as I'd like to support the devs (being an ex-software dev myself, I understand the pain) A Suggestion: Maybe, in the next major release, say, version 3 mixed with Dram calculator (for example); I would'nt mind (and I believe alot of people wouldnt as well) if its a licensed tool with a paid upgrade for major releases (or any kind of licensing scheme), this is just an example that came to mind.

It's on your BIOS PPT Auto? I modified to 250W on CTR my PPT setting and Its works , but some people had to change PPT limit on BIOS.

question: after diagnose and tunning P1 and P2, after P2 si done , the CB20 bench stops because its over the 200W power limit ~ i think 235W or so. Anyhow, is it advisable or can you even have 2 different Max PPT(W) , one for P1 and one for P2? And if the tunning for P2 is fine, why does the CB bench use more than 200W and fails? Maybe many reboots happen because of too low PPT?

Been here many months, plan on staying many more. This is work I have no trouble throwing some monetary support behind.

Timothy Schumann

Really terrible people would even take the effort to cancel a patreon contribution just to do that. Keep up the good work man <3

Hey thanks Yuri! QUESTION: I run (msi bios) -45w PBO setting on 2 cores when using my gaming pc for 24hr mining, then when I switch to gaming for a short time I use PBO "Enhanced 2" with cores on auto. I'm changing this in bios every time when I start and stop gaming. Is there a setup in the current CTR that gives me a profile like this? Would it be worth it to OTHER USERS to have this?

S. D. G.

Also, yeah, I’ve noticed that too on threads. It’s often a particular thread (thread #0 or thread #11 on my 3700X or thread #10 on my 5600X) that gets dropped. So, it’ll be interesting to see how it compensates. Can’t wait for RC3! 😬 But also, you plan on keeping the long diagnostic as an option, yeah? Like I don’t mind having a diagnostic run for 1 hour or 2 hours if it means that my chip is thoroughly tested, and it’s determined to be a gold sample (oh to have a platinum sample!). It would also be nice to have a detailed log option where you can see how often and when CTR switched profiles in Hybrid OC (obviously not default or you’ll give folks a wall of text, but maybe I want to see how often my computer changed profiles overnight or maybe it could even help with error reporting?!).

Henry Curtis Pelgrift

That’s honestly pretty shitty behaviour on their part. While they’re not paying for a product (they’re patrons), you are choosing to give your patrons a gift for their support (early access and guides as well as guidance), so those people are abusing a gift. I don’t know a single culture where that isn’t considered disgusting behaviour. I also thought it charged me at the start of the month anyway, but that might be because other projects were doing that for me. 😂

Henry Curtis Pelgrift

That‘s the way to go, appreciated. You can count on my support. THX Yuri!

Bluevisionart

I am quite appalled by this behaviour of some users. Your work is really great, if that is necessary to continue your project I support you fully!

An appropriate adjustment for your excellent work.
