A young Franzbrötchen Becker, running wild in 1940-50s San Francisco.
Kitten Franzie and her baker mother beat paws when things started turning ugly in late 1930s Dachau, establishing themselves as best they could on the east coast of the US. When Franzie was attacked and partially blinded by a pack of other kids, she and her mom hopped a cross country freight train to California. There, her mom found consistent work in her field whilst Franzie was being unofficially raised by other immigrants, artists and the local queer community. Despite all the pain and instability she suffered in her early childhood, Franzie will enthusiastically tell you that her youth was awesome.
Franzie would meet writer Alsesta "Mitsu Grandeur" Scroff in the late 1960s at one of the former's gallery shows.
