So it's Take Your Eft To Meet Their Future Employer Day and Lady Alena is presenting her daughter to King Andrias. For all his less savory qualities, the big guy does have a soft spot for kids, and is promptly charmed by little baby-lady Olivia. As well he should be. 10/10 I would k!ll everyone in Newtopia and myself for Smolivia.

I won't say Lady Alena was a mean mother, but she was very strict and strictly business. Furthermore she intentionally bred for quality offspring without taking a partner (who has the time?), so Olivia didn't have a second parent she could fall back on for fun or warmth. I could in fact see her finding these qualities in jolly, paternal Andrias, who, schedule allowing, is always down for a tea party or a game of Flipwart. Lil' Olivia and Daddy Andrias: there's some headcanon you didn't know you needed to mash down your gullet today!

As for why Andy and Olivia had more of a disconnect in canon...after Lady Alena's death, Olivia knuckled down hard on the whole majordomo/bastion of the environment thing. She was determined to be a strong link in the Newton family chain and not tarnish her mother's memory. And it was all "blah blah protocol and blah blah maybe don't salt the earth so nothing ever grows again", and the king got bored. Seriously, Liv, you used to be cool.
