Outside of the amusing context of "it's Diamond Tiara and Apple Bloom", Diamondbloom really just feels like a mutually abusive relationship. It worked for JG. It doesn't work here.
Rather, Beck Stomp's major interpersonal focus is on her mostly-friendly rival, Tapia Barrios. Beck and Tapia are intellectual equals who are in constant competition for the eventual valedictorian spot at Mercyfurs, where they both attend on scholarship. They're also starting to realize that intelligence is kinda attractive.
The similarity between the words "Tapia" and "Tiara" is a coincidence. x_x
