How strange that Mrs. Harmony didn't accept the offer, when it seemed that her work was the most important thing in her life (By the way, I was surprised that she honked at Mark at the end to drive off; I could see her capable of hitting him). I don't know what's happening to Helena; I don't know if she likes it, it bothers her, or she's just curious that her innie has a romantic relationship with Mark's innie. Also wtf Burt?! And clearly, the Cold Harbor thing must be related to Gemma. Let's remember that at the end of the previous episode, it appeared that name and Gemma's face. Either Gemma isn't dead and they're using her for experiments, or she's dead but they cloned her using her body. I'm more inclined to believe the former, since a clone, in principle, wouldn't have memories of Mark, and clearly something is stirring in her. "Miss Cassey" herself said that the time she spent with Mark was the longest, but also the one she enjoyed the most, of all the time she was "awake" (Omg, what a Bible lol)

I think there was more than one incentive yes, but as the series goes on I think the theme is, what would you do for love... in a way. So I think the fact his innie may be in love is a huge part, but that's just my take of course

Claudie

Yes, I still wonder about doubles or duplicates you'll see as the eps go on why I feel this. And also, timelines, just keep watching, it will make more sense soon! :)

Claudie

Aw thank you and yeah hehe it's super duper good!

Claudie

Hi again, To your point of Mark willing to join for 'the sake of his innie's love', I don't think it's the case at all. I hardly think Mark gave a thought about his innie and more the fact that Milchick claimed his innie's happiness will seep into his life. And a 20% bonus sounds pretty good, considering this job probably already pays well. I do think Milchick is lying out of his ass again, since the purpose of severance is to separate all personal experiences, and emotions seeping through wouldn't be it's intended effect. Also Helly's elevator bell didn't ring at the endπŸ‘€ Overall, I think this episode is the 2nd best looking episode of season 2. So many good shots in here!

We have more questions rather than answers with each episode! I’m puzzled, what is going on?! Is Mark part of a greater experiment like cloning? You mentioned this in season one. They all have been lied about 5 months passing by, right?

It's fun to watch how excited you get before and during these episodes! I felt the same way while I was watching. This episode in particular, was pretty much everything I was hoping for during the long break between seasons. Getting to pick up exactly where things left off was so satisfying! I was worried they would skip ahead in time. Hope you're enjoying season 2 so far!

Travonious

Yeah like those ideas!

Claudie

Yes there is some good mirroring, I like that too!

Claudie

Been meaning to post this for a few episodes now (FYI, comments aren’t vetted for spoilers) https://youtu.be/QYVyTvnAsQw?si=YevzhArDekXS5qaD

Yes that's such a brilliant detail isnt it!

My thoughts on 2 of the questions you had here: 1) My impression from the end of season 1 was that Helena took the severed position as a publicity stunt for Lumon. Propaganda to sway support for severance if an Egan is prepared to undergo it. Whether she had much choice in the matter remains to be seen. 2) I don't think Mark has the power, Helena does. He only started getting what he wanted after Helena saw the kiss. The fact that she was watching him return makes me think she was behind Lumon being so desperate to get him back, because she's intrigued that a part of her fell for him. I doubt she's received much love in her life from what we know of her family and suspect you hit the nail on the head with her being a mirror to Mark in terms of the idea of their innie finding love being a motivation to return.

From a storyline point of view I appreciate that they mirrored Season 1 Eps 1 & 2. Ep one showing us the innies point of view, ep 2 showing what happened on the outside during the same time frame. Also, now that I've watched this whole season, I notice the intentional blocking they did with negative space in these episodes and why. Didn't really notice that before but its subtle and lovely!

The dynamic between Cobel/Helly and Cobel/Helena is crazy. I attribute this to Britt’s acting. It’s just fantastic! Like I said earlier this is a trippy season πŸ˜…

Love watching this show "with" you...🀩 I just wished you've had the patreon with the full-length reactions back when you watched "Arcane", since I have no YT account and couldn't talk with you about it...πŸ˜…πŸ™ˆ Thoughts on this one: The new intro is definitely creepier than the other one...πŸ˜… Ricken get's not enough credit in my eyes. Yes he can be a self-centered windbag and he can be weird, but he seems to be a caring dad and husband in his own way. He can't stand Lumon and tries to be non-judgemental and supportive. "Cobelvig" is great, he is calling Marks work self "workie", in contrast to the belittling "innie". Devon must have seen something good in him...πŸ€”πŸ™‚ I'm with you, there is no erotic fixation going on with Cobelvig, my guess is that Mark is the key to her work and thus she wants to keep an eye on him all the time. Maybe they're not only working on Gemma but also on Mark - some how...πŸ€” There is also the fact that she was pissed that she couldn't go back to the severed floor asap - maybe she is more involved with the severance procedure than we thought and Mark is her favorite guinea pig? Kinda like a primate researcher loves his favorite ape? πŸ€” I love the camerawork in this show. Helena walking down the glass aisle was such a beautiful and the same time eerie shot...🀩 My question, too. Why did Helena what she did? A publicity stunt? Was she maybe ordered by her family to do so? To prove how safe and harmless Severance is? Who says it was solely her decision? As the designated heir she is under an immense pressure, too. You can see it in her fathers reaction and in her face when she prepares for the damage control record with Natalie (it is Natalies voice asking her and the hand is totally different from Helenas hand - nail polish, shape of the finger, etc.). I love how she put even there a little Lumon-PR in ( blaming the competition - "...treated... with a non-Lumon medic..." πŸ˜‚). I don't think looking for an escape from her life drove her to get severed, but it drove her to go down to the severed floor and to see for herself why Helly did what she did. I'm convinced now - it is Helena down there...🀯 By the way, I love the way they use the english language: nomenclature, atone, an apology is warranted - all those big expressions. It feels almost like a different language...πŸ€”πŸ™‚ Gemmas death: I think he didn't see her face, he saw her remains. He said "If Ricken died... and his body burned...", so I guess that is what they told him happened to Gemma. And whe he saw a burned body maybe they switched it and made the other body look like Gemma?πŸ€” My further question is: If Gemma is volutarily severed, why did she do it, why did she fake her death or let them do it and if not - what did they say or do to her to get her? πŸ€” As I said, Mark is apparently the key to their work, thats why they want him back at any cost. But I think you're wrong about Mark not feeling the love - workie Mark felt outie Marks pain on a subconscious level, why shouldn't it work the other way around? πŸ€” And we got our answer about the 5 months - it was three days, if I counted right. I'm with the other comment, Mark has no authority, he has leverage, because he was never supposed to know how important he is...πŸ™‚ The only thing I have no idea about is Cold Harbor...🧐 Initially I thought this was a drama - no, this is pure horror...πŸ™ˆ As always, can't wait for the next one...😍

Hehehe I know right so so good

Claudie

Yep very good point :)

Claudie

Helly? How on earth did you find your way in here... hello :) Hehe yeah she really is! Wonderful character!

Claudie

"I had 48 hours to pull this together " also milchick to the innies " It's been 5 months " He is such a liar hahahahh, just for shits and giggles

MAROON

I don't think Mark has "authority". They said a couple times they need him to finish what he's doing, and presumably only him, based on their efforts to get him back. Seems like he's got leverage. But I wouldn't say authority.

Justin Odum

Helena = most fascinating character on the show (which is saying something coming from me)

Helly R

I just have to give my flowers to Britt lower the way she plays helly and helena as they completely different people in one body just talk about a complex character

Trish

Helena, who leads a very controlled and orderly life, was fascinated by how freely and passionately Helly behaved. Perhaps Helena wondered what that would feel like.
