Probably less “Isaac is asking for a deadname” and more “Dread has yet to change her name at this age but her soul knows the deadname isn’t it” so it’s coming out as a blob.

2023-11-29 01:16:55 +0000 UTCSo both those words are some form of "to illuminate" so I'm thinking this is some sort of weird spell because there is no way Dread and Isacc went to elementary school together. Isacc was from a low-magic/no magic farm family, and both of Dread's moms are highly magical. Also "Punch your own face" is Dread trying to get her subconscious to snap her out of it. Also, Tred, just a direct message to you: Your stories are phenomenal and I cannot state enough how these pull me in!

I think Dredd not saying her name is an in-universe effect(if it was just to avoid deadnaming or revealing her real name to us, that could be written around), so does Dredd have a block in place in her own mind to protect her name? And in that case, why haven’t any of Isaac’s defenses manifested yet?
