Progress Post February 2024

The Wikipedia episode came out yay!! And with that the Manon plushie Makeship petition thingy!! It was a huge success, it warms my heart to see so many people enjoy the episode and are hyped for the plushie. Though advertising the Manon plushie was suuuper exhausting, I was completely out of it for the next few days after the countdown stream! I've been taking the rest of the month off to do other stuff and take it easy.

Yesterday I actually received today a lil plush preview from Makeship woaw!!

I'd show more but the design isn't final at all, there's still some tweaks that needs to be made. I want it to be PERFECT.

Something happened that coincided really well with me taking a break from LOVEWEB. The TF2 source code officially released! Which means Open Fortress can release on Steam now!! Also my boyfriend Elliot became project lead and game designer for the game!! So cool!! Also also I'm an official artist/developer for the game woaw!! I've been helping Elliot a lot with turning his ideas into concept art like designing a new HUD for the game. It's been a lot of fun and refreshing to do something that I've never done before, especially coming out of a big LOVEWEB grind.

There's something serious I want to mention here. It's been really awesome to see new fans of the show and the positive receptions to every new episodes... But the reality is that making LOVEWEB is becoming more and more financially unsustainable as someone who has to pay bills. Bills that only go up. And without a boost to the Patreon, I gonna have to stop making LOVEWEB. I could find a part time job and work on LOVEWEB as the other part time job. But considering episodes already take so long to come out... If it starts taking 10/12 months for an episode to be done, I'd rather spend my time on other things. The money from the Makeship partnership is nice but it's gonna help cover the bills only for a couple months. Patreon and commissions are the safest way to make a living as an independent artist.

It's a worrying note to end on but money problems have always been something tormenting my mind and it has reached a point where something has to be done. In march/april I'm gonna work on a video talking about this and really advertising the Patreon, and we'll see how things go from there.

I want to really thank everyone who donated to the Patreon whether you joined after the last episode or were there since the very start. Without you guys, nothing during the LOVEWEB journey would have been possible...
