Progress Post October 2024

Progress post jumpscare because it's the spooky month.

You might have already seen this on the web but I drew this lil teaser drawing!! It comes with a short loop of music on tiktok and manon's youtube channel to give it an old flash loop vibe. I also drew this because the storyboard/animatic are now done!!

The skeleton of the episode has basically been layed out, this time i even voiced everything myself so I can work on the animation a lot more effectively while the voice actors can take the time they need to deliver the lines .It looks like it's gonna be around 14 minutes long. After the TF2 episode I really wanted to make an 8 minutes smol episode but there too many things about Wikipedia that needs to be talked about, even if the episode is self-aware that it's short and isn't gonna be in-depth. But hey, LOVEWEB episodes are never in-depth, they're supposed to be "entry-level" taste-test videos to get viewers interested in the topic and doing their own research.

Also after completing that animatic, I need a bit of a LOVEWEB break.

I've mentioned in my discord server doing teeny tiny episodes, 1 minute shorts that can be done as a way to NOT have 6 months gap of no LOVEWEB. After much meditation on the concept (and deciding that liteweb is the best name, thx ange), I think these should be extras/companion pieces to episode that have already been released. Elaborating on things mentioned in previous episodes but could still be interesting on their own and cannot be tackled in a whole new episode. The best example would be talking about rule 63, since it's nowhere mentioned in the episode about the rules of the internet while being a pretty popular rule, oops. A liteweb related to the episode about web revival could talk about "single serving website". Stuff like https://www.ismycomputeronfire.com/ and https://crouton.net/

But also I realized pretty quickly that taking a break from LOVEWEB by working on more LOVEWEB is kinda dumb. I've mentioned in previous times trying to come back to "Shadok talks about stuff" videos. I still wanna be able to post 1 video per month on my channel but I can have pretty chaotic "fixations" and I can't work on something if my heart isn't in it. So I'm NOT gonna say what I'm working on right now because I keep ping ponging between topics. But here's a visual test I did, trying to hone down a catchy unique style. Something easy and simple but still appealing.

Anyway yeah!! I'm still figuring out ways to grow things, the clip about the Open Fortress LOVEWEB collab got 17K views on tiktok lol. Again these views aren't translating to more views on youtube but it's still funny. But yeah hope you'll have a good Halloweeen, I'll be working hard!!!
