Thank you so much for your reaction! I don't think it as ever explicitly said but the fight between Wuxian and Jiang Cheng is both real and a plan; the plan was to make it apparent to the rest of the world that Wuxian was no longer involved with the Jiang clan, that way his actions don't affect the clan negatively. So while Yanli and Jiang Cheng would very much like Wei Wuxian to be with them they're all keeping their distance from each other in hopes the Jiang clan is not blamed for anything they want to throw at Wei Wuxian, if that makes sense. This episode always makes me so emotional no matter how many times I watch it. It's so heartbreaking to see Wei Wuxian's sadness and frustration when he's missing all these major life events from his family. I love how evident it is that they all still miss him, we can see it in the way Yanli visited Wuxian in her wedding dress, Jiang Cheng suggesting Wuxian name the first kid of the new generation and Lan Zhan fighting so hard to get Wei Ying to Rulan's first month celebration.
