I'm so glad you enjoyed the episode! I love how the audience can see Lan Zhan's emotions - of powerlessness, confusion, sadness, indecision - when he comes across Wei Wuxian in the beginning of the episode, I think it's a beautiful scene. It's very heartwarming to see Lan Zhan defend Wei Ying in front of others. And I'm glad Mianmian tried to defend Wei Wuxian in a room full of posturing people, it was very brave of her to secede from the Jin Clan. While Wei Wuxian is absolutely doing the morally right thing, we can also see how the public's opinion of him turned very negative very fast. It's one of those moments during the flashback episodes that makes the audience think, maybe I can see how things got to what the series showed in the first episodes. It's a little rattling to watch. Also, Wei Wuxian obtained his flute during the three months he was missing in the middle of the Sunshot Campaign - the war against the Wen Clan. Thank you so much for your reaction!
