I'm so glad you enjoyed the episode! What you said about Yanli not wanting Wei Wuxian to stay in Lotus Pier if he's miserable has always been something that makes me love her character, she's the kind of person that just wants her loved ones to be happy. I really love Jiang Cheng but like you said, he can be so mean and rude without even noticing. So Lan Zhan did sneak into the forbidden chamber; he's not trapped there but he did go in without permission. I believe a big reason why no one has noticed Wei Wuxian is missing his golden core is that he works really hard to hide that fact from everyone, and he uses his demonic cultivation so no one notices he can't use the sword anymore.
