It seems that Dean takes on his protector mode with Adam almost like a mother and Sam is much more like Dean was as an older brother. Dean did protect Sam for a time while they were young. He tried to give him a real home in his way. I think once Sam figured it out Dean was just too relieved to have someone to share it with since he was really very much alone until Sam knew too.

It reminds me of that scene forever back when the two actually have a proper conversation one equal footing as adults instead of father-child. "Spent it on the ammo." Pft. Also those ghouls really slashed him, but he seems surprisingly "okay" later on at the pyre??

2019-08-13 13:14:21 +0000 UTCIt's just so ironic that Dean did the exact same thing to Sam that Dean is now so against Sam doing to Adam. And when Dean did it, Sam wasn't even interested/was frequently mocked/patronized to about wanting to have a white-picket life. Adam, of course, doesn't know any better but ( fake! )him at least seemed interested/was already clearly involved in the life given his mother was taken/likely murdered. I suppose it just goes to show how much the boys have changed over these seasons.

2019-08-13 13:07:57 +0000 UTCUgh, I have a really hard time with this episode. There is just so much blood, yikes! Wow Dean was right about Sam and John, it's such an interesting character dynamic. The brothers seem so edgy with each other. This episode is so relationship driven and Dean seems to really have a hard time with what Sam is doing with "Adam" , I just loved that.
