Yep! You're right. This season is very dark. It's also amazingly awesome. Definitely one of my favorites. The storytelling is so, so good. And I love Castiel, too.

2019-05-14 04:02:37 +0000 UTCI liked this episode, but I agree that it's a bit slow at times. I often like even the "slow" episodes, if they have good stuff still happening. This one did, for me. I was curious about all the new information we were getting. You have a good point about the ghosts maybe not being "real". I think they are though, but their actions are enhanced into anger due to being raised by Lilith the way she did it. I think I have an idea as to why Dean is having trouble with the whole Angel and God thing. And now Lucifer. It's likely related to what he said in the episode about why isn't God doing something then? With everythig that's been going on with demons and such. Dean can't understand someone not doing something, because that's the way he is. He has to help. Plus, it's part of something deeper, I expect, that affected his belief system due to what happened to his mom, and all that. I liked the scene between Dean and Castiel. Dean getting pissed and angry with the powerful angel, then looking a bit worried afterwards. He's gotta watch his temper! lol I don't think any of them were responsible for the deaths of those people. Even Meg. They didn't know. And they didn't actually throw her off that building. The shadow demons did after Sam knocked over the alter she had controlling them. But they were responsible in a remote way, I guess.

As for the ghosts who rose up, I think a part of the spell used to raise them from the dead twisted their pain and anger so that they would blame those that are the slightest bit responsible and attack them, even though they don't really do blame the hunters they came back to try to kill. Both Meg and Henrickson understood in the end the risks and knew that Sam and Dean did all they could. I suspect Donald did too. It's still very sad. And as for Dean's disbelief in Castiel, other angels, and God... it isn't that he doesn't believe they exist. He just doesn't understand how they can exist and yet they don't do more to help out the innocent people like all those they and other hunters fight to protect and save. The world is full of evil and if there's a God and angels out there in existence, why don't they do more to help? That's what he struggles with. How can God and the angels not care more? I think this is a question everyone in real life struggles with day to day. I know I do at times too. With all the evil that we see in the world... on the news, etc... It's really hard to believe that God can allow so many people to suffer. I myself do believe in God and know that he has a purpose for all that happens, but it's still difficult. For so many people.
