Filmed in my hometown!! The taverna behind them when they're walking and talking did the best souvlaki, but isn't there anymore. I work on that street, 2 doors down from where Dean is squashed by the desk! The dog munches on Dean right outside my bank! Dean gets run over across from my garage! Also the street that the guy is driving down is a one way, and he's going the wrong way. There's a great donut place on that street. I love this episode.

2019-05-17 04:24:05 +0000 UTCSupernatural has this thing where they start an episode and you think it’s going to be funny, but then it ends up breaking your heart. This is an excellent example of that. || I’m not sure if you noticed, but the coloring of the ep began very bright and happy and as Sam faced each new day, it got darker and less saturated - another way that each element goes into portraying the overall story. Also, one of my favorite details that most people (including myself) miss on firsr watch is that in the scene after Dean dies the final time and we see Sam eating in the motel, he has ordered his brother a burger - you can see it sitting at the other place at the table. That silly little detail makes me cry each time I watch the episode. || P.S. Eric Kripke has said many times that his favorite death of the whole show is Dean dying of taco botulism 🥴😬😂🤣.

2019-04-19 19:16:46 +0000 UTCThis is a very good episode. I love when Supernatural does ones like this. They start out kinda funny then take a hard turn serious, and I'm like Whoa! I also am not a fan of the Trickster because of this one. I can't stand people or things that HURT SAMMY! Yes, total Sam girl here.

And Dollhouse must have stolen their idea from this episode. There are a lot of shows that have things in them that SPN has done. Years before. Either it's a common thing to do, or others just like to mine old shows for ideas. SPN has a lot of good stuff, and likes to be diverse in what it does. A lot of your viewers are going to be looking forward to seeing this one. It's definitely a fan favorite. It took me a while to enjoy this one though. The first time I saw it, I was NOT in the mood for this sort of episode. I was like Sam. Just desperate to save Dean. But I now love the episode. It just wasn't funny to me back then to see Dean die again and again, and worried about how to save him. I actually did worry that he was really dead in this episode, and that the writers were really messing with us. Fun BTS info - Jensen said that they had real mouthwash in the stuff he had to use in this episode, in the scenes where he was gargling. And with all the takes, he said his mouth totally went numb for a while and made it harder to talk even. Another little think that most people miss on first viewing is in the scene where Sam is alone in the hotel room after dean died. Sam is eating. Well, on the table across from Sam is another dish of food. A hamburger. For Dean. Yep. Let that sink in. My Head Canon is that none of that was really happening. That it was never Bobby who was talking to Sam. That Sam was stuck in a made up world created by the Trickster. Out of time with the rest of the world. It was real to Sam, though. And time was real to Sam. But to the rest of the world, nothing was changing. It was just one day.

I love the Trickster, and I do believe that you're right that the Trickster in his own way wanted to try to help Sam in his fight ahead without Dean. I'm so glad that you enjoyed this episode too. Thank you!
