Sadly Magnus has been torn down by others for centuries whether that be past lovers or asmodeus, I read a comment once that said that Magnus is very confident but has almost no self worth after being beat down throughout the years. I think he truly believes Alec doesn’t love him anymore without that “spark” that “magic” it’s very heartbreaking
