An autistic woman is unable to explain why she desperately craves validation from the worst person she knows, it has been rumoured.
Avery Mann, 25, really, really wants colleague Mac Wheatley, 34, to like her, despite him universally being considered a colossal douche by everyone he encounters.
Mann commented: “Mac and I were assigned to a project together. Since then he’s been flaky, dismissive, cold and at times, downright rude. He left me to do all the work, didn’t thank me once and put his name before mine on the finished product. It must be something I’ve done.”
“The less effort he puts in with me, the more frantic my efforts to win him over seem to become,” Mann continued. “I even baked him a ‘sorry you don’t like me’ cake.”
“He ate the whole thing but didn’t comment on it, so I’ve baked him a ‘sorry my sorry you don’t like me cake wasn’t good enough’. I’ll keep you posted on how that goes.”
Mann could not be reached for interactions with her friends, who actually love her, as she was composing a heartfelt song called The Ballad of Mac Wheatley.
