“It was worth it” says autistic woman shunned for saying what everyone else was thinking

An autistic woman facing social consequences for blurting out the thing everyone else was thinking but not saying has announced that it was “totally worth it”.

Sabeen Bhatt, 29, who found herself frozen out of a Sunday brunch date with the girls after failing to politely nod along with 29-year-old Emma Bernard’s terrible life decisions, has explained that she’d “do it again”.

Bhatt said: “Emma was agonising over whether to start an affair with her married next-door neighbour. That was one thing - but then she announced her plan to get a fringe cut.”

“All I did was point out that last time she had a fringe it made her look like Macauley Culkin in Home Alone,” Bhatt continued. “And that she’d inevitably end up trying to trim it herself and downgrade to Bez from Happy Mondays.”

Mutual friend, Olivia Buckingham, 30, commented: “Sabeen really didn’t pull any punches with Emma. Don’t get me wrong, it was awesome - but we still have to shun Sabeen. Those are the rules.”

Bhatt added: “I last saw Emma coming out of the hairdresser and heading to her neighbour’s. I have a feeling she’ll be going home alone.”
