An autistic woman has come under fire for being a leading expert in her field, it has been reported.
Music historian Becky Armitage, 45, who has published three critically acclaimed books on music from the 1950s to the 1980s, reportedly goes around making others feel inadequate by having an encyclopaedic knowledge of her topic.
Robert Noot, 42, whose wife, Emma Noot, 44, is friends with Armitage, commented: “Becky acts like she knows more than me about The Beatles, just because she’s written a couple of pamphlets! I know almost all the words to Yellow Submarine!”
“In the town where I was bored, lived a man with snails of three,” Noot sang. “Ringo is definitely the best songwriter.”
“Next time she comes to dinner, I’m going to catch her out,” Noot continued. “I’ve read the entire Wikipedia entry about music. Well, I’ve skimmed it. That’ll show her for thinking she’s better than me.”
Armitage commented: “I don’t think I’ve ever discussed music with Robert. But next time I think I’ll just meet Emma for a coffee on her own.”
