An autistic ghost who roams the halls of a suburban family home hadn’t realised she wasn’t a welcome presence, it has been rumoured.
The entity, known as The Grey Lady, which is pretty rude given that her name is Beth Hapworth and it’s not her fault she was wearing a grey cardigan when she died, was left “hurt and rejected” after realising her mistake.
Hapworth said: “I feel like such a fool. They’d often say things like ‘it’s getting a bit late’ but I figured they were referring to my lack of mortality.”
“I can’t believe the family wants me gone - after everything I did for them,” Hapworth continued. “I broke that horrible painting none of them liked. I brought them trinkets from all over and left them as gifts. I even looked after their kids. Well - I possessed them.”
Hapworth added: “Sometimes the family could be a bit full on. They were very religious and trying to convert me. They even brought a priest over. He talked about Christ a lot then he told me to move towards the light, which was frankly ableist given my autistic light sensitivity.”
Hapworth then ended our interview as she planned to show the family how non-threatening she was by quietly singing the children a lullaby.
