Write for The Daily Tism!

Exciting news! We have said from the beginning that our aim with Patreon is to earn enough to hire more writers. The time has now come for us to take on our first freelancer!

We are able to offer one freelance writer one commissioned piece per week at £40 per piece, with a view to increasing commissions as our income grows.

We are looking for applications from people with lived experience with autism. No comedy writing credits needed - we will be assessing on the strength of the application.

You need to be someone who:

- Can write in The Daily Tism’s style and to brief.

- Can produce four article *ideas* per week for weekly pitching. One will be chosen per week - if we commission more than one it will be carried over to another week.

- Can consistently meet weekly deadlines

- Is happy to be edited and receive constructive feedback.

- Would like to grow and develop with the site.

- Has lived experience with autism.

- Is funny as fuck.

Please apply with the following:

- One full non-autism-related original piece but written in The Daily Tism’s house style. This is to avoid any unintentional crossover with our site content. This can be about anything non-autism-related that you like - think The Onion.

- Five more non-autism-related headlines only. This is to show that you can generate a high volume of ideas.

- A bit about you and why you’d like to write for The Daily Tism (no more than 500 words).

Some tips for writing a successful application:

- Have a proper read of our site to absorb the house style and tone.

- Headlines should be standalone jokes - they need to be funny and instantly shareable without someone having to click through.

- Pieces should be no more than six short paragraphs. Each paragraph should be funny.

- Work MUST be your original work - no AI / LLM.
