An autistic advocate asked to work for free in exchange for great publicity has managed to convince their landlord to accept the unusual currency, it has been rumoured.
Eddie Albington, 45, was concerned about getting evicted from their family home, but fortunately convinced landlord Aidan Michaels, 50, to take payment by basking in Albington’s reflected glory.
Albington said: “It was hairy for a while there when nobody would pay me for my time, work and expertise - but luckily Aidan was happy for me to pay him in a LinkedIn post promoting my work by a boutique recruitment agency’s HR manager.”
“Now all I have to do is convince my gas, water, electricity and broadband providers to swap my monthly direct debits out for a small law firm promoting my book from five years ago on their work Intranet,” continued Albington.
“Still haven’t figured out what to do about food, though - but I’m sure in time the sense of satisfaction for a job well done will fill me up enough for the hunger pangs to stop.”
