Also, here's the end result of what Jess' summer job is going to be! I've tweaked it so that this Emily Abbott person is an inventor who nerdy teenage Jess idealized after she got her Neurolink.
Hopefully things don't go too badly when Jess eventually meets her hero!
Any finally, not to over stuff this post with things, but I've been trying to decide how old Hugo should be. I want him to be older than Jess, but he also started 'dating' Jess when she was 18 or 19, so not so much older that it would be creepy. Does six years older seem reasonable? So he would have been 24 when he met Jess, and I think I set Jess' current age to be 20 or 21, so that would make Hugo currently 26 or 27.

I think meeting Jess when she was 19 would be the youngest you want to go.

2025-07-03 14:45:11 +0000 UTCIf Hugo was 24 when they met (and he is clearly depicted as being older), then I think Jess at 19 would be ok, but Jess at 18 would be borderline creepy, though not unheard of.
