Added 2025-02-06 04:14:26 +0000 UTCSo as a hint of what's to come, Jess' implant can let her turn off all of her own senses, meaning that if she so chooses, she can go into VR, while lending control of her body, and not feel anything the borrower does. This of course can be very dangerous if done with someone untrustworthy, but it is within the implant's capabilities.
This feature is helpful with chronic pain and going to the dentist.

This is how they will accomplish the body swap, but I do have a moment where Jess leaves Felix to his own devices written out that sort of just happened organically.
