Change of Patreon Benefits, thanks The Un-Fun Pimps...

Another mod creator has warned me of a change in policy that The Fun Pimps (or The Un-Fun Pimps) have made to modding their game. To make things easier, I will copy and paste it here.

4) Do not actively solicit for donations. You may include a link in your thread for voluntary donations but no financial sum should ever be required of users to download part or all of your file. This includes not requiring payment to be part of a team of testers for early access to a new version of your mod that you are developing. You can have a private team but nobody should be required to pay to be on the team.

The part I put in bold is the important bit. The creator I spoke to has been told to stop providing access to the testing builds for his patreons and this rule has been changed to reflect that. As such, I have had to PUBLICALLY remove the Access to Testing Builds benefit (which may also stop the Patreon sales tax thing), and have added the two, new benefits listed below instead.

If this means folks want to drop their support of the mod, then I completely understand. You can blame The Fun Pimps for that one. If any of you have suggestions on patreon rewards, please do let me know. I want to make sure you all feel as if you're happy and getting your moneys worth.

I apologise for this change, and I hope you all understand why I had to do it. :)

Glad you're enjoying it :)

I dont know about everyone else, but my moneys worth came from the Darkness Falls mod itself. Its a whole better game, inside a game. Hats off to you, i plan to donate more when i can just to make it worthwhile for you, appreciate you, testers, and everyone else putting work into Darkness Falls.

So one of the moderators involved in the decision got in touch and discussed WHY it happened. I still do not agree with it, since plenty of other games are not as restrictive on what can/cannot be done with mods (like Rimworld). HOWEVER, I now understand why they did it. Basically 1 modder had a private version of their mod available for patreons, but hasn't released a public version in one and a half YEARS... That's why they had to drop the hammer.

I think I understand maybe why TFP did it, but regardless, teh rewards to me are just fine, you got my sub boss man! Keep up the awesome work.

Will keep supporting you, it does suck that this comes out the blue but people have to learn to be more patient with mod authors.
