I think training your ear is a better investment of your time and efforts, but learning software like Guitar Pro as Scott mentioned is very useful too... no reason you can't try learning both at the same time!

2024-08-01 20:45:50 +0000 UTCThanks for answering my questions, Jake. I do take your point on ear training. It is a skill I really do need to develop, as should any musician. I guess it would take a lot of time learning how to use a software or other tool to write it down and then there is the actual writing down. If I use my ear to figure it out, it may even lead to new ideas. So it does make a lot of sense.
