Community colleges are great, yes. The only reason I could surprise my students with my Skibidi knowledge is you guys. You keep me hip.

Here’s the thing…it’s the same show. Viva Laughlin was the US remake of Blackpool. I had completely forgotten about it before this Ladscast, all I recall from the time is a lot of general confusion about why it was set so geographically close to Vegas, since it really kills the contrast in locations that the original show utilised. Really is a strange choice on the show runners part, I think there are plenty of other states they could have set it and it could have worked but they picked Nevada.

I don't know about any of the Croft's programs, but I did get traumatized by reruns of The Letter People, a different puppet tv show from the 70s. PBS was skmething else before the glory days of Arthur and Magic School Bus.

"I'd actually like to read some of these lyrics by Amy Grant." THIS is why I'm subbed at this tier

Talking about tv show musicals: there was a detective/crime series, Blackpool, on the BBC with David Tennant in it from around 2007. It was a jukebox musical. Except instead of re-arranging and performing the songs to give them a new context, or dubbing the actors’ vocals over the original recordings a la kidz bop, they had the actors sing the vocals and then mixed them into the original songs. Less a musical and more of a sing-a-long. But if you want to watch David Tennant as a detective investigating a criminal while having an affair with the wife of said criminal, as he barrels the camera while doing some choreography and singing along to “The Boy With The Thorn In His Side,” well then I’ve got seven episodes of a show for you.
